I know for a fact that Eleanor Davis works very hard on her comics, but every single one reads with a kind of ease? clarity? effortlessness? that belies the exorbitant amount of skill and empathy required to do the work she does. And I think “empathy” is the key word here. All of her comics, whether sci-fi shorts, autobio travelogues, or fuck wizard minis, exhibit an intense awareness of how people hurt each other and how they find solace in themselves and others.
Additionally, Davis is a voice for a better comics community and a better world.
